Yaccarino said X filed the lawsuit after reviewing a recent investigation by the House Judiciary Committee that found evidence that “GARM and its members have directly organized boycotts and used other tactics that are not targeting unpopular platforms, content creators and news organizations for the purpose of making money and, in effect, reducing some choice for consumers.”
He said X realized that GARM’s tactics had cost X billions of dollars.
In a press release Tuesday, video sharing platform and cloud service provider Rumble announced it was joining the lawsuit.
GARM claims to be “apolitical” and “volunteer” and says it benefits its members by providing access to “tools and information on best practices to learn where their advertising investment is going.” go there, and avoid being placed near illegal or harmful content that could damage their products.”

Discussing his views on freedom of speech, the leader and co-founder of GARM, Rob Rakowitz, expressed frustration with the “extreme global interpretation of the US Constitution” and complained by using the “principles of government” and using them as the actual law from. 230 years ago (made by white men only). GARM is believed to have worked with major companies to implement advertising campaigns on Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, Spotify, political polls and news outlets, including Fox News, The Daily Wire and Breitbart News.
Musk also publicly criticized GARM and made the first proposal to take legal action against the group as he referred to it as a “disgusting marketing racket.”
WFA spokesman Will Gilroy told Fox News Digital this week that “the recent allegations made by the US House Judiciary Committee against GARM for anti-competitive conduct are baseless.”
“Membership of GARM is completely voluntary. Its structures and tools are deliberately broad, and individual companies are free to review, accept, change or reject them, as they see fit. appropriate,” Gilroy said. “The decision of where and when to advertise is always up to the individual advertiser, in collaboration with their agency partners where necessary.”
“Recent engagement with industry leaders suggests that GARM’s work remains relevant and important as digital media continues to grow,” he continued. “Therefore, GARM will continue to live up to its commitment to help its members conduct responsible marketing practices.”
